Possible Technical Issues With GradeSpeed

Hardin ISD does not offer technical support for home computers.  The following information is not intended to be a sole source support, but only suggestions in order to help resolve any minor problems that you may experience while trying to access GradeSpeed Parent Module.

POPUP BLOCKERS

Popup blocking software is getting more and more popular these days.  Many websites use popups to make money.  These popups can be quite annoying.

Many people choose to install programs that will block popups from opening.  Popup blocking software can also “piggy back” onto other software that is installed.  You may not be aware that you have a popup blocker if you do.

The GradeSpeed logon screen is a popup and all popup blocking software must either be disabled or uninstalled in order to access GradeSpeed.  The following is a list of some of the more popular popup blocking software available.

Google Popup Blocker

PopKiller

WindowsXP SP2 (popup blocker included)

Yahoo

Smiley Central

Avant

AOL (popup blocker included)

NoAds

Mozilla

Popup Manager

Pop This

Firefox

Hitware popup killer

Window Shades

AskJeeves popup blocker

Alexa

MSN popup blocker

Popup Preventer

PopDown

If you know you have a popup blocker, you will need to disable it or uninstall it.

HOW TO DISABLE POPUP BLOCKERS

Many times you will see the popup blocker icon running in the system tray (beside the time in the right hand corner of your screen).  Right click on the icon and you will see the command to “Disable” the blocker.

If there is not an icon running in the system tray, then go into the Control Panel to Add/Remove Programs.  Read through the list of programs that are installed on your computer.  If any of them are Popup Blockers, then uninstall them using the Add/Remove button.
